The Night Class is off for holiday; Rima, Ruka, Kaname, Kain and Takuma all went to Aido's resident while Aido himself stayed behind. Senri Shiki decided to go home instead of going with everyone, and he was summoned by his mother's grandfather, a member of the Council. Meanwhile, back in the Moon dorm, Aido has a flashback of himself asking Kain to investigate Kaname's secret while away at Aido resident. Later, Aido went to the boy's dorm over at Sun Dorm (where Zero was staying), and Yuki, who had wondered towards Zero's room. The three of them decides to eat dinner at the headmaster's resident when Aido refuses to go back to his own dorm. Zero cooked enough for three, but Aido ate them all in his stress. During a short talk with Yuki, Yuki states she will be okay even if Kaname betrays her, and Aido silently agrees. Later taking a bath, Aido has a flashback of the first time meeting Kaname at his house while he was much younger. Aido, who believed himself to be perfect at the time, refused to befriend Kaname. Later, his teacher taught Kain and Aido the power of a pureblood; and the next time Kaname and Aido met was years later, when Kaname's parents had committed a suspicious suicide Aido highly doubts. Still in the kitchen making dinner for Zero and herself, Yuki drops a plate. While picking up the pieces, she cuts her finger. She tells Zero to lick it and drink her blood, a scene witnessed by Aido, who becomes troubled by it. Aido hurried back to the Moon dorm and picked up his courage to enter Kaname's study, where he saw broken chess pieces on a chess board. He realised that Kaname is plotting something.
